Please tell us about promotion possibilities and fill us in on what it takes to move up the ranks.
I feel that there is a clear and straight forward path for promotion based on achievements and goal setting.
Graduate, Melbourne - 13 Sep 2024
To move up in the ranks, KPIs must be met as well as self-development. From what it looks like, experience also comes heavily into play but i have not really had the opportunity to pursue these yet.
Intern, Melbourne - 12 Sep 2024
As an undergraduate, it feels like there is a barrier blocking formal promotion. However, the experiences and lessons I've learned will certainly contribute to my career progression and ability to be an effect asset in the engineering field.
Intern, Sydney - 10 Sep 2024
Opportunities to get higher salaries not too hard but getting more work and projects seems harder as it filters through to specific people.
Intern, Sydney - 10 Sep 2024

Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Sep 2024
Initially (first few years with the company) I believe that sheer time spent is the key to progressing ones career here. However, opportunities to differentiate yourself are available and fairly administered.
Graduate, Melbourne - 09 Sep 2024
Have to meet certain criteria set every financial year
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Sep 2024
The opportunities are there, being a big company. The company also just raised it's graduate salaries by 10k to make them more competitive, which is great. It does mean however the band between the grad level and level above has shrunk.
Graduate, Brisbane - 09 Sep 2024
I know people see value in me. I will work hard to live up to these expectations, but bias always exists in any workplace. Unfortunately you will need to chum up to managers and others to get your face into their mind, but that's just how networking works. Hard work, showing your output, bringing value and money back into the company is about 70% of it, the other 30% is about how well you have developed your relationship with management. But I think that's pretty normal, all things considered.
Graduate, Sydney - 09 Sep 2024
Job roles are advertised internally which can be applied for. Being promoted from a graduate (level 3 engineer) to a level 4 engineer can just happen through a conversation with my line manager which sounds quite straightforward. Clear paths for progression are available.
Graduate, Adelaide - 09 Sep 2024
The promotion decisions were not made in a transparent manner, and there seems no clear requirement for each level to refer to.
Graduate, Sydney - 09 Sep 2024
I feel like what needs to be done for career progression is very clear but expectations for performance goals are bit a lofty for Excelled / Top 10%
Graduate, Perth - 05 Sep 2024
As a junior engineer, there are career path given with promotion. i think it is to shoulder more responsibilities to be promoted, like work on more projects, and provide help when people need.
Graduate, Sydney - 03 Sep 2024
No opportunity for skill development in my team. Need more projects available to develop and show skills and have the opportunity to progress.
Intern, Sydney - 27 Aug 2024
We have role cards for each level you can be at within our team. the role cards identify what skills you need to showcase and achieve in order to move to the next level. promotions happen twice a year and anyone can be promoted as we don't have to wait for someone to leave or fill an empty position. If you are demonstrating and achieving the skills you will be promoted
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Aug 2024
We have clear role card for different levels
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Aug 2024
Promotions usually occur at the annual review period at the start of the new financial year. Promotions can also occur throughout the year, but less common. Bonuses are given in September, if you rank in the top two bands (out of four possible bands) at the Annual review. Little to no clarity about who is involved in the decision for promotion, or what is required for promotion, no reasoning given if not promoted other than generic advice to look at the company guidelines. No useful feedback to be able to apply to the next year.
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Aug 2024
I've been offered site work, secondments and a range of different projects to grow my skills. Aurecon guides you through your career with a career coach, helpful KPIs and a supportiv community.

The company has a structured pathway for promotions and clear role cards. So, it makes it easier for individuals to know how they are doing and what they need to do to improve in their career.

You are definitely recognized for your work at Aurecon - there is a large process and emphasis on performance reviews in relation to goals set for the year. The review process appears transparent and there is always room for discussion on where you want to go with your career pathway as well as reaching out to seniors to discover how to get there.
