We’re looking an Assistant Accountant to join our Superannuation team to work part-time while you complete your studies.

Your Career in Superannuation

Superannuation legislation is a complex area! The BDO Superannuation Team provide hands-on superannuation advice to individuals, accountants, and other advisers on superannuation related matters to deliver the best outcomes to clients.  

As an Undergraduate within our Superannuation team, you will receive training and support from our team of experts, and use the latest technology, tools, and software to assist clients supports clients who are operating self-managed superannuation funds to meet regulatory requirements through compliance, administration, and audit services.

Getting started you’ll support the team, assist with the preparation of superannuation fund compliance documentation, annual financial statements and returns, and internal / client correspondence.

Eligibility

  • You will be enrolled in and working towards a degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or relevant undergraduate or postgraduate CA/CPA eligible degree.
  • Immediate flexible start, working part-time, minimum 3 days per week with options to increase to full time during university break times.

Pros and cons of working at BDO Australia

Pros

  • The culture in and out of the office is great.

  • My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.

  • Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.

  • Never any pressure to stay late.

  • The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.

Cons

    • Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.

    • The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.

    • Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.

    • Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.

    • Could include more women, however this is the industry.
