As an Undergraduate within our Private Wealth team, you’ll build your technical financial planning skills, whilst you complete your studies.

What you’ll do:
Our Private Wealth team supports clients through every stage of life. They provide advice on investment and wealth creation strategies, superannuation and pre-retirement planning/retirement, self-managed super fund and corporate super, portfolio management services, wealth protection and estate planning and more.
What you’ll do:
As a Private Wealth Graduate at BDO, you can expect to:
- Provide research-based support to Advisers
- Assist with requesting and collating information and preparing documents
- Laise with clients regarding general correspondence
- Maintain accurate client records.

What you’ll offer:
- You will be in your penultimate or final year, or have recently completed a Financial Planning, Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Business or relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree

I am given a fair amount of responsibility, and plenty of support to learn.
Checking emails, liaising with clients to receive information on their R&D activities, writing/drafting activities according to AusIndustry guidelines/ITAA legislation. Calculating financial incentives and meeting with clients.
Admin tasks including note taking, setting up meeting and powerpoint/word templates, writing and research tasks

Pros
The culture in and out of the office is great.
My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.
Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.
Never any pressure to stay late.
The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.
Cons
Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.
The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.
Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.
Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.
Could include more women, however this is the industry.
