As an Undergraduate Auditor in our Audit team, you’ll build your technical accounting skills, whilst you complete your studies.

Each audit is an exciting opportunity to learn and understand the ins and outs of how a business operates, looking at both the big picture and detail to deliver quality audits and add real value to clients. 

What you’ll do:

As an Undergraduate Auditor at BDO, you can expect to:

  • Join a large team of experienced audit specialists and technical experts
  • Be client-facing, working in the office and field, visiting client sites across various industries such as not-for-profit, tourism, retail, hospitality, real estate, construction, transport & logistics and government
  • Use BDO international audit methodology
  • Review financial statements, prepare, and maintain working papers, identify risks and identify opportunities to improve client internal controls.

What you’ll offer:

  • You will be studying towards an Accounting or relevant undergraduate or postgraduate CA/CPA eligible degree.

Pros and cons of working at BDO Australia

Pros

  • The culture in and out of the office is great.

  • My colleagues are always willing to get out of their way to help me.

  • Great opportunity to learn. People are nice and not getting annoyed when I ask questions.

  • Never any pressure to stay late.

  • The training is great, I have learned a lot in my time here.

Cons

    • Pay is relatively low, however this is industry-wide.

    • The graduate program doesn't rotate us through all the service lines.

    • Some managers are great and give constructive feedback. Others do not provide you with proper instructions.

    • Dishwashers are small... toilets are not flushed... desk are most of the time dirty.

    • Could include more women, however this is the industry.
