Financial Analyst at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank Group
Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance (Honours) (Financial Planning) at University of South Australia
Not many can say that they spoke alongside the Prime Minister, Chairman, and Managing Director at the opening ceremony of their company’s newest headquarters. I can! But only because our Bank is special. The exposure you get to senior management and the Executive team is second-to-none. With the introduction of Activity Based Working at the Adelaide headquarters, it’s a regular occasion to be sitting next to the CFO, CRO, or even the MD if he’s in town (that was how I got the gig).
My graduate experience was specifically tailored to my background in Mathematics and Finance. I spent the first 3 months in the Basel II team, where I assisted in the construction of the internal rate curve. My second rotation was in Balance Sheet Management, where I developed a greater understanding of the Bank’s ALM system. I also spent 3 months with the Credit Risk Stress Testing team during the annual Industry-wide stress test imposed by APRA. To finish off my graduate program, I spent 3 months with the Business Products team, before settling in a Financial Analyst position with the Performance Management team within Finance, principally working on Funds Transfer Pricing and Economic Capital.
It’s a good company that cares about their people and the community. I look forward to going to work every day, making a contribution to the company, and a difference in the broader community. Bendigo and Adelaide Bank is Bigger than a Bank!
