I feel confident now in knowing that I need to do and have support from my team in my work. I feel like I have a good amount of work and can speak up if I get overwhelmed.

I believe I am given skill appropriate work by my direct manager(s) and regularly provided with opportunities to further my development. Unfortunately this has not been consistent across all teams I have rotated through, but there has been some effort from all teams to see that I have a manageable workload and am introduced to new concepts and areas regularly.

Pros and cons of working at Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC)

Pros

  • There is so much support from every level of the business, including upper-level management. It may be a unique experience as a graduate, however I've found so many of the employees from different areas and at different levels of seniority make an effort to get to know new employees personally and show an invested interest in our development.

  • Positive work culture

Cons

    • Budget cuts

    • Hot-desking - we don't have set desks and move to a different desk every day/week. It means I have to fit as much as I can into my locker/drawers and take everything else home, as well as clear off and clean my desk every day. Then bring everything back the following day.

    • It felt like it took a bit of time to settle into the role and know exactly what you needed to do.
