Recruitment Intern at Fuse Recruitment
Bachelor of Business and Marketing at Monash University
6.00 AM
My day starts at 6 AM, but instead of jumping out of bed immediately, I usually scroll through social media for a bit to fully wake up. It’s a nice way to ease into the day before getting ready for work.
6.20 AM
Around 6:20 AM, I start getting ready for the day. I don’t plan my outfits in advance, so I pick whatever feels right in the moment. My morning routine includes brushing my teeth, skincare, and styling my hair. I aim to leave the house by 6:50 AM to start my commute.
6.50 AM
I live in the Northern suburbs, so I drive to work. It’s about an hour-long commute, and I typically arrive at the office around 7:45 to 8:00 AM, giving me time to settle in before the day kicks off.
8.00 AM
Since I usually arrive early, I have some quiet time to get settled. I put my lunch away, set up my desk, and check my emails around 8 AM. By 8:10 AM, I check my team messages for anything I may have missed since my last day in the office. My morning is dedicated to actioning emails, reviewing applications, and preparing for my first screenings, which usually start around 9:50 AM.
12.00 PM
I typically have lunch between 12 and 12:15 PM. I bring a homemade meal since I meal-prep for the week, but before I eat, I like to take a walk with others in the team. We socialise while they grab their lunches, and then we all head back to the office to eat together.
1.00 PM
After lunch, my focus shifts to following up on applications for the Future Insure Graduate Program. I ask candidates pre-screening questions to assess their eligibility and continue with more online screenings. During these screenings, I explain the grad program’s process and answer any questions candidates may have. Around 3 PM, I follow up with candidates who haven’t completed their applications yet, sending polite reminders to ensure they meet the deadlines.
4.00 PM
Before wrapping up for the day, I finalise any candidate profiles I’ve worked on and update the relevant spreadsheets. I always make sure to say goodbye to everyone I can see before leaving the office.
5.00 PM
My day doesn’t end at 4 PM. I start my part-time job at 5 PM, working until 10 PM. Afterwards, I head home, unwind by getting "unready" with my skincare routine, and relax.
11.00 PM
I aim to be in bed by 11 PM. My nighttime routine includes a shower and more skincare, followed by some time on social media before I drift off to sleep, ready to do it all over again the next day.
Balancing my internship with a part-time job and university life keeps me busy, but I enjoy the structure and experience that each part of my day brings.
