The Linfox Vacation Program offers students an excellent introduction to a future career in logistics. This paid, three-month program provides hands-on experience in the rapidly expanding logistics industry.
The program will take place during the University summer break, running from December 2nd to February 21st.
You will have the opportunity to observe and work in operational areas such as transport management, warehousing, order fulfillment, demand planning, and safety. This will provide a comprehensive understanding of general logistics duties while working with cutting-edge technology, offering a unique perspective into industry processes.
In addition to gaining practical experience in a rapidly growing industry, participants will also have the opportunity to:
- Collaborate within a supportive team

- Develop professional relationships and connections that will boost their career
- Be paired with a Linfox employee for supervision
- Work with leaders in the logistics industry
- Gain exposure to the supply chain network
At the end of the program, participants will have the option to fast-track their application for the following year’s Graduate Program. If successful, they can enjoy their final year of study without the stress of job searches.

The Linfox Vacation Program is aimed at students in their penultimate year of university, who are working towards a degree in Supply Chain & Logistics.

About you:
- You are completing a Supply Chain & Logistics degree or a major in this discipline in your degree.
- You are an Australian citizen or Australian permanent resident at the time of your application (essential);
- You are in your penultimate year (second last year) of your university degree, or if you are doing a double degree, you must be in your penultimate year of your overall studies and due to complete end of 2025
- You have strong Strong problem solving skills with a "can-do" attitude
- Have a current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle when you start

I undertake various roles, from accepting tenders, moving them onto linfox systems, balancing out fleet management with the supplier and linfox requirements, operations tasks varying from helping drivers with load sheets, toolbox talks, safety checks and inspection, daily driver log book inspection.
Tracking costs and revenue, invoicing customers, reporting daily, weekly, and monthly stats both internally and externally. Pricing new work within the transport space. tracking trailer hire and de-hire status.
Review kpis, analyse rate cards and contract asset registers, also time and motion data.

There is no guaranteed employment post-graduation, and the lack of clear career progression paths can leave graduates uncertain about their future within the company.
The onboarding process can be inconsistent, with some graduates feeling there is not enough planned work or guidance, leading to periods of confusion and downtime.
Grads must take a proactive step which isn't a bad thing, however sites usually have no clue what to do with a grad.
Due to the frantic and fast-paced nature of the industry, sometimes it can cause stress.
No guaranteed employment post-graduate program and long hours.
