Your role and responsibilities as a graduate vary so much rotation to rotation. Currently, I spend a lot of time reviewing contracts and preparing for litigation generally.

I receive some research tasks and drafting tasks but would like a heavier workload and more responsibility

I have been doing a lot of unbillable work which has been great for my development in other key areas; i.e,, drafting articles for the MK website, cold call emails to prospective clients but I wish I had the opportunity to have more billable work. Perhaps this is because the team doesn't have enough at the moment.

I am loving my ESM/Commercial rotation. The work is very interesting and the teams are great!

It is very much team-dependent as a grad. Some teams will be drafting letters of advice, attending mediations or court, some teams may be more administrative tasks

Graduate Lawyer - I handle various tasks across various teams. This is great for learning. Currently no one day is the same.

I work closely with an Associate, communicate directly with clients, draft significant advice and other legal documents.

There are periods when I am not very busy which makes me feel futile and bored. As a graduate lawyer I want to be constantly learning and growing and when there is not a great deal of work or the work is administrative in nature then I do not feel as though I am being challenged or learning.

I undertake a variety of work such including assisting with research, drafting court documents and letters to clients.

My day to day is always very different. I can be brought in and assist in a variety of tasks which is something I really enjoy. As a grad they really look to expose you to as many different experiences as they can. My days have included meeting with clients, reviewing agreements, drafting letters and coffee with my mentors.

Taking instructions from Principal or Senior Associate for various matters daily, meeting with clients weekly.

Consist of supporting the lawyers in the management of their matters. In my current role in litigation this includes: helping with discovery, drafting letters of demand, drafting court documents such as statements of claim, legal research, and writing advice,

Liaising with clients Drafting various types of document Dealing and managing Court processes Attending various ADR sessions

My role as a graduate is mainly to undertake minor adminsitrative tasks, conduct research, draft basic correspondence and attempt first level reviews of legal documents.

Commercial litigation and dispute resolution, including briefing and instructing counsel, providing legal advice, appearance work and review of various documents
