As a graduate there is an emphasis on learning rather than deliverables. I mainly assist the Cloud team with BAU activities and other projects.

As a graduate, I spend a lot of my time shadowing or working together with my buddy on tasks and meetings. I usually have some tasks to complete independently in the background. Workload never feels too overwhelming, and clear communication with my manager helps me strike a good balance.

Pros and cons of working at nbn

Pros

  • The people are extremely welcoming and approachable, it makes asking questions very easy.

  • The culture and work environment. The people I work and interact with makes working at nbn incredibly enjoyable!

  • Working at this company has been an absolute joy, thanks in large part to the amazing environment that's been created here. As a graduate, I couldn't have asked for a more supportive and nurturing place to begin my career. From day one, I've been welcomed with open arms by my colleagues, who have shown an incredible amount of care and curiosity about my experiences and perspectives.

  • Very friendly and laid-back culture with flexible working arrangements.

  • Being able to complete rotations. I feel like this helped me gain a better understanding of the different teams within the business unit and which team suites me better. And the culture too.

Cons

    • Somewhat slow onboarding process. Takes some time to figure out the permissions required but can be rectified quickly.

    • The bureaucracy (is going to be a thing for all enterprises)

    • There are a lot of meeting that we have attend during our day to day, sometimes the meetings seem repetitive.

    • Many of my days are packed full of meetings, which can sometimes hinder my ability to achieve tasks and carry out my responsibilities.

    • Meeting culture is prevalent in my experience, but experience does vary between teams.
