2022 Junior Technician / Trades Assistant - TAFE Students Preferred null

The Position

Our repairs are completed to the highest level and returned to our customers working and looking like new.  We complete calibrations, repairs and adjustments for our range of torque control equipment, including torque wrenches, pneumatic/electric torque multipliers, hydraulic wrenches and torque measurement devices to name a few.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Tool calibrations and adjustments
• Tool repairs including strip down, rebuild and part replacement
• Interpretation of exploded parts drawings
• Production of calibration certificates
• New tool builds for product orders/stock
• Completing calibrations of transducers
• Completing calibrations of display instruments
• Technical support to internal Norbar sales staff

 About You

Whilst some experience in a trades assistant background or mechanical/electrical field would be great, we are also very keen to hear from candidates just starting out in their career who have the following attributes:

• An interest in mechanical and electrical/electronic repairs
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Customer-focused and committed to delivering a high level of service
• Able to work collaboratively in a team environment and enjoys supporting others
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Reliable with a good work ethic
• Eager to learn and grow as well as open to constructive feedback
• Training will be provided, and we are happy to consider relevant further training and/or qualifications for the right candidate
• Pre-Vocational or school-based courses in electrical/electronic and or mechanical trades will be highly regarded but not essential

Norbar and Snap-on are non-negotiable on safety. This role involves lifting and requires applicants to be fit and able to undertake this work safely. This person will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and manual handling training.
