There is a higher-order purpose, you understand that a lot of the work you’re trying to develop is to try and create greater benefits for people in NSW. That’s promoted in the work that the Treasury does.

I was offered another graduate position (in Canberra), but what really sold Treasury for me was I felt that the work I’d be doing in this program at Treasury would be a lot more interesting and we’d end up as quite a tight cohort (of fellow graduates) and both of those have been proven right by the program. Some workplaces have a 100 intake (of grads), but here I am definitely not lost in the system.

We’ve had a lot of fun together, we’ve done three big projects over the year and had a lot of fun outside that socialising and meeting each other for lunch, even though we’ve been working in very different and diverse parts of Treasury we do make an effort to see each other and catch-up together, and I hope that continues now that we’re in ongoing positions.
