About Perfection Fresh

For 45 years, Perfection Fresh has operated as a privately owned business with a long history in agriculture and horticultural innovation in Australia.

We’re passionate about growing delicious seasonal produce. And we’ve harnessed Australia’s unique climate and diverse growing regions to make that happen. From the sun-streaked fields of Queensland to the lush midland meadows of Victoria, the mild temperatures of Southern Australia as well utilising the thriving Tasmanian soil.

We’ve established our very own Perfection growing facilities across the country. And partnered with Australia’s finest growers means our fruit and vegetables are farm-fresh and flavour perfect all year round. Walk into any supermarket, and you’ll see our branded fresh produce that’s ready to eat.

You may be familiar with our Calypso® mangoes, Qukes® baby cucumbers, Mix-a-Mato® tomatoes or our Perfection Berries and Little Gem®, Havana™, Red Tip® Ecoganic® bananas. We pride ourselves on creating respectful, long-lasting relationships with the Australian farming community to grow the most flavoursome produce for our customers.

And produce never stops growing, which is why no two days are the same at Perfection Fresh. We are on a trajectory of immense growth, export and innovation and we want you to be part of it. We are a network of over 2000 people around Australia dedicated to supporting a sustainable business that invests in its people by developing and empowering them in their individual roles. Our employees benefit from a hybrid workplace and flexible working conditions to pursue their passions.

Are you ready to be part of our team? We are!

Our two-year Agronomist Graduate Program

We are inviting people who want to learn our business from the ground up, that will expand their professional skill set, and who are willing to travel and be involved in a business where you can learn about the innovation of agriculture, and how the future of sustainable farming will impact how we eat.

Our Agronomist graduate program will have you involved in our Farms, you’ll gain first-hand experience across our Farm operations, be involved in our Markets as well as work in our sustainable commercial business.

And with all of this on offer, you’ll use your degree in ways you never thought possible having access to all facets of our business with a competitive remuneration package. You’ll experience on-the-job learning and individual training to suit your role. Regular one-on-ones will ensure that your career is heading in the right direction, and you’ll be surrounded by people who are the subject matter experts in what they do.

I really enjoyed it, not what I had imagined but it has made me more proactive and vocal i.e. calling stores and administration task.

Graduate Agronomy Program: I usually spend two to four weeks in different departments including varying aspects of farm management. Later on this will include HR, markets and distribution.

I spend a month training in each department related to aspects of the farming business. Much of the work itself is very repetitive and labour intensive.

Pros and cons of working at Perfection Fresh Australia

Pros

  • Friendly work environment, hybrid work and flexible working times.

  • Respect for individual autonomy when given a project to work on - lots of support from the team for any questions or technical help needed - many learning opportunities, extra projects to jump onto if wanted - very hands on, doing a variety of tasks that are in different business areas e.g. working in NPD kitchen for recipe testing, going to the warehouse, in office - doing something different everyday, it's exciting!

  • Flexibility and there is so much to learn. The best thing is working with people who are more experienced than you, because they are so knowledgeable and experienced.

Cons

    • It is quite overwhelming coming in as a graduate. You realize that there is a lot that you don't know, that you need to learn quick. But at the same time, I'd rather be pushed than spoon fed for the whole graduate programme.

    • The reality is you will spend a lot of time in front of the screen, so making sure to take breaks.

    • We are working early in the morning and the reason is because we are produce company, so trading happens early in the morning.
