What you’ll be doing
Data analysts are crucial in interpreting data, turning it into valuable insights which enable effective, evidence-based decision making, thus improving business. They gather information from various sources, identify patterns and trends, and communicate what has been found in a digestible manner to the wider business/relevant colleagues. Data analysts require a blend of technical skills, an analytical mindset, and the ability to distil complex information into clear narratives that is accessible to a non-technical audience.

You need to have completed a bachelor's degree in IT or a related field within the last 3 years or will finish by mid to end 2024 to be eligible for the start of the program in March 2025 or sooner if requested by agency.
Interstate applicants should be made aware that positions offered are within Queensland Government, therefore relocation to Brisbane is mandatory. Interstate applicants are encouraged to apply, however, it is up to the successful graduate to arrange relocation and cover any moving costs involved. It is not the responsibility of the program, nor the home agency for graduate relocation.
You must be available to start work by March 2025 or sooner if requested by the agency.
My duties of my role fluctuate quite regularly. I would appreciate a steadier workload. However, the work is meaningful and does make an impact to our clients so at the end of the day, you feel a nice sense of accomplishment, belonging to an essential team in delivering change.
My role is a UX/UI Designer, I work along with other designers in my team to work with stakeholders and their website designs.
I am working as a database administrator. My day-to day responsibilities are: Regularly checking database performance to ensure it runs efficiently. Preparing for data recovery in case of hardware failure or data corruption, and running recovery drills. Granting or revoking access to the database, ensuring only authorized users can access sensitive data. Setting up and managing high-availability solutions (e.g., replication, clustering) to ensure the database is always accessible.

Since it is government, there are a lot of approvals required to do your tasks
Not all supervisors are competent/skilled at teaching and mentoring.
Red tape, approval time, and fear/slow pace of adopting new technology and techniques.
The worst would be that sometimes there isn't too much work to do, so some days can be slow.
TMR can sometimes be subject to bureaucratic processes that can make change slow and decision-making complex.
