Pros and cons of working at RACV

Pros

  • The people are absolutely amazing. I come to work excited to catch up with everyone.

  • There is so much opportunity to work across different teams in the business and broaden your career path, and you'll always be supported.

  • The positive close-knit workplace culture in the department and the modern office spaces.

  • Given a lot of responsibility to deliver projects & work independently. This combined with a supportive manager makes me feel that I am developing quickly.

  • The company is determined and serious about investing time and money into new graduates.

Cons

    • Some teams may be less mature but this also means you are given responsibility and opportunity from the get go that grads from other companies might not get.

    • I wouldn't say it's the worst thing but the technology is still a bit behind compared to other places – laptops are very slow and run into many issues (this is work and team dependent).

    • Department culture and ways of working can vary department to department.

    • Teams tend to prioritise tasks far in advance, so it can take a long time for turnarounds on requests/suggestions.

    • Whilst this responsibility is great for developing my professional self, sometimes it can be stressful.
