SAAB as a global company views sustainability differently than just environment and tries hard to keep ontop of these sorts of things.

Saab supports STEM programs in schools. Sponsors staff to undertake days of volunteering. Programs for supporting veterans in the business.

Saab seems very people focused with a lot of attention given to employees and the general community. Of course, deadlines have to be met; but there have been opportunities to visit schools to mentor in stem programs, give site tours, and take a paid 'volunteering' day in community (of my choice). There is also a strong veteran community within the company, so there are many initiatives I have been involved with, like 'walk for a veteran', in support with the company.

Saab engages with a number of outreach programs, particularly in the high-school/STEM and the veteran support and employment areas. It also provides a volunteer day each year for employees to use.

The company is quite conscious of the environment. This is demonstrated by the large array of solar panels on site, and the usage of water saving equipment in bathrooms. The company also provides support for veterans entering the workforce after serving. Along with this there was the recent sponsorship of the Invictus games, including sending staff there to volunteer to help with the running of the games. The company also provides volunteer leave for employees, where you receive paid leave to participate in volunteering activities.

Our company contributes to exposure in schools of possibilities for up and coming engineers. I have not yet been involved but will as my Graduate program progress.
