We have an exciting opportunity for a Law Graduate to join a newly appointed Technology Partner in our Melbourne office.

About the work and the team

  • Our team regularly advises clients in the rapidly evolving technology, privacy and data space and is looking to expand nationally
  • As part of this role you will work on a wide variety of technology procurement, privacy, data and AI related matters
  • We are at the forefront of regulatory development and market trends. To engage the industry, article writing and developing market leading publications will be some of the key tasks required in this role, cementing our reputation as an industry leader

About you

  • You will have prior Paralegal experience at a well-regarded law firm
  • Proven interest in areas such as information technology, privacy and AI
  • A passion for innovation and technology and a strong work ethic are essential
  • You will have graduated and be able to start as a full-time graduate immediately

Pros

  • Everyone is helpful and supportive. Very encouraging and wanting to help you succeed within your career.

  • There is a great work/life balance. It is obviously dependant on the team you are placed in, but overall it appears senior management appreciate their staff and work hard to ensure everyone remains happy.

  • I am given the opportunity to get involved in a variety of work.

  • The people and their attitude to work and the culture across the firm.

Cons

    • Long hours.

    • The pay is generally lower than market pay.

    • The uncertainty re rotations.

    • The lack of desk/office spaces.

    • The billable targets are slightly higher than other firms in the same tier and pay is sometimes on the lower end of the spectrum.
