be sure you're up for the challenge, the job is challenging and will require you to put in the hard yards and if you're willing to put in the effort early you'll definitely be rewarded later. If you are interested in the refinery don't expect it to be a happy go lucky gig but also just know that the learning you will do and the experiences are going to be worth it

Being a major hazard facility, there is a large focus on safety at the refinery. Come to your interview prepared with answers for a few scenarios on safety such as when you saw something unsafe/what you did to rectify it. Additionally, research the Viva Energy values and think of how you might fit into them.

Don't freak out too much. In the assessments, they want to see how you would act and your process to figuring it out, not necessarily whether you are 100% correct or not. The interviews are not strict and formal like an interrogation, but felt like more of a casual conversation about me and my experiences.

Read up on the company, it has a very interesting history. Overall, be yourself and show how eager you are. I did not have the best grades and have two years left in my degree, but I really wanted to work for Viva Energy. I tried to show this as much as possible in my interview and I guess it paid off.
