I feel like more training could be provided especially in regards to Excel. The on-the-job the training is helpful but it is hard when you have no software experience to build off of. I feel like everything else is learnt on the job and is best done this way.

There is the general graduate training stream which revolves around mental health, navigating change from uni to FTE, understanding your personality type or strengths/weaknesses. For covering roles, the person you are covering will generally let you shadow them and take notes while teaching you how to do the job. You can do site visits to the terminals and get a tour from the operators. There is a fundamentals course which is pretty much a conference where they give you a crash course on the whole business. You can do as many training courses as you want, but you just need approval from your line manager.

We hold a number of graduate training days. But the actual training that you get depends on your team. For me I believe that it is going a bit too slow as the team I work with are not quite equipped to train a less experienced person like a graduate.

The company is not afraid to invest in you, particularly for external training - such as interstate training. So far the time management and people skills I've learned are not something you can be taught. the formal trainings have also been things you would not learn in uni and are definitely worth it and more interesting than reading a book
Graduate, Melbourne - 09 Aug 2024
both informal training and formal training is a two way discussion, great way to learn. Mistakes don't feel disproportionate to consequences. often results in review to improving going forward

Have received invaluable 'on the job' training from the manager I was paired with in my role. Formal training typically involves external consultants and is usually helpful in the context of both your personal & professional development.

Role specific has a lot of material from 2014, but in the process of updating it now. Development specific there are plenty, with a commercial excellence program in progress.
Graduate, Brisbane - 20 Jul 2023
The graduate program training is very helpful however on the job training was very self driven. It was nice to have other team members to request assistance or help from, however there is only so much time and help they can provide as they are also quite busy during the day.

There were initial crash courses of meetings and an overload of information at once and it took a bit of time to truly understand what certain things meant within the fuel industry.

Graduate, Melbourne - 05 Feb 2018
The training was almost two full days of training, very thorough, a bit boring at times as most of it was online, but it was very thorough, and regulated very highly.
Intern, Geelong - 01 Feb 2018
Very extensive safety training but necessary for this type of business. Opportunity for further training if required for your project
Intern, Geelong - 01 Feb 2018
Safety is a major priority, many inductions required, skills learnt relate not strictly toward work but outside of it as well.
