Pros & Cons
The work we do is diverse, interesting, fulfilling, challenging, and values-aligned.
Great team and healthy work culture.
People are friendly, and most people are happy to talk and provide technical or situational guidance.
Relocation allowance. We have a three-year rotating program including a company conference, overseas study tour, and leadership development course.
Alluvium is highly committed to sustainability. They are a BCorp company, and consider issues such as their involvement in work that relates to certain aspects of the mining sector with a high degree of deliberation.
I put a large amount of pressure on myself to deliver high-quality work efficiently. This can at times result in me feeling acutely stressed and potentially working long hours.
Sometimes as a junior person, you don't get to work throughout in a project — your contribution will be in a few project stages.
It is difficult to find the expectations, knowledge, and resources you need to complete your work and operate effectively in the systems and processes at the company.
It is not always clear what it takes to move up the ranks or be promoted.
A better onboarding process and support for graduates.

It is not always clear what it takes to move up the ranks, or be promoted. It seems that there are a few options: project management, people management, and technical leadership.
We have an active reconciliation action plan group. An alignment with principles working group guides the types of projects we work on. Operate as a carbon-neutral business. Maintain our BCorp accreditation.
Alluvium has a great company culture, and it's one of the things I love most about it. Its flat organisational structure drives high degrees of respect and inclusivity amongst colleagues.
I feel Alluvium is striving to be better and better at how they support diversity within their company. As a white LGBTIQA+ woman, I feel very well supported and comfortable.
You will have a direct team leader who manages you, and you will also have the project managers of the different projects you are working on. Some are fantastic, and some are still building these skills.
Our office is wonderful - it is comfortable, light-filled, spacious, and well-located. It also has an excellent kitchen, space to work away from your desk, good meeting rooms, and a lovely selection of plants.
I felt extremely comfortable during the interview process. The two people who interviewed me were kind, respectful, and warm, putting me at ease from the get-go.
I feel Alluvium pays fairly, and their practice of providing a profit share equitably across the business at the end of the financial year is a great initiative.
Alluvium is really great at facilitating on-the-job/informal training opportunities, as your fellow colleagues are often very open to teaching you and passing on knowledge and experience.
Alluvium is relatively flexible when it comes to hours. There is a general expectation that you will work roughly 9-5pm, but there is no strict direction on when exactly you work those hours.
Alluvium is highly committed to sustainability. They are a BCorp company and consider issues such as their involvement in work that relates to certain aspects of the mining sector with a high degree of deliberation.
