LGBTQ+ at Department of Industry, Science and Resources
The department fosters a culture of inclusion and respect and is committed to ensure the workplace is supportive of all people.
The department’s Pride Network works to:
- increase awareness and understanding of LGBTIQA+ issues
- support the development and implementation of LGBTIQA+ related workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives within the department
- promote and support a culture of diversity, safety and inclusion.
The Network does this through:
- welcoming and supporting LGBTIQA+ staff
- promoting advocacy and awareness
- organising community visibility and events
- connection and networking
- reviewing policies.
Network membership is open to anyone who identifies as LGBTIQA+ and to allies committed to supporting the community.
In the 2022 APS Census 10.2% of departmental staff identified as LGBTIQA+.
