Application Process & Interviews at WTW

Interview process was quite straight forward, there were 2 interviews - one with the senior associates and last one was with the manager and recruiter. Assessment was also straight forward, overall an easy process.

Long. Too many interviews.

Very automated but constant communication and a point of contact which was great.

The process was smooth. Plenty of time to prepare in between assessments and interviews.

So the interview process was very smooth. There were 3 interviews, a recorded video interview with pre-set questions, an interview over Microsoft teams with 2 members of the retirement team and a final face-to-face interview.

Standard job application process, which was application/screening, aptitude test, video interview and face to face interview.

HR delight. Too many stages for my liking. Initial application, psychometric testing to get inside your head, video interviews and then a final interview. Far too long for my liking.

Strange and unrelated to actuarial science.

Mainly about my past experience and what I knew about the role.

My experience, goals, expectations. Why I wanted to work in this industry. My character and positive and negative traits.

There were a variety of questions such as: - What makes you interested in this role? - What would you consider your biggest strength (and weakness)? - Outside of career and academics what are some hobbies and activities you pursue? - Describe a situation you showed strong teamwork qualities?

can't remember specifically but things around recent market movements, effects of covid.

Questions about my understanding of the role, why I applied, my experience/skills. Was also asked to explain my thoughts on my choice from a list of issues, relevant to the ideas taught in actuarial studies.

Usual HR confusing type of questions - feel as if specifically interest in actuarial studies was not touched upon until the final face to face interview.

Research the company, ask questions about the role and a few behavioural questions

Be prepared to be asked strange questions.

Do your research on the company and the type of work you will be doing.

Be yourself and let the interviewer know who they are going to be working with daily. Read up on the company and see if their views align with yours.

I think research on the types of operations WTW completes is an important factor. This gives the candidate better context to answer interview questions and connect the candidate with the company.

Make sure to have a good general understanding of recent events that may have impacted the market, and what you would have done in that situation.

Carefully read the job description, as a large company there are many different operations and some aspects of the company may be less relevant to the specific role.

Go with an open mind - realise that questions are there to try and profile you, but give it your best
