We recently celebrated Earth Day via Zoom call and committed to planting a tree for each attendee, composting is highly encouraged at the office, minimal use of paper, etc.

My company culture is amazing. I can speak to anyone and everybody when I need help. I have great support from my manager and senior leaders who support me in what I am trying to do. There are also many after-work drinks with people from my team and other teams. Everyone is just super friendly and happy to socialise with you.

I had a few phone interviews with HR and my hiring manager before proceeding to the Assessment Day. The Assessment Day involved me working with my fellow candidates in creating a presentation that we would deliver. Then I would have a panel interview with the hiring manager and other senior managers at VMware. Within a week, I received an offer.

The starting graduate salary is competitive compared to other companies, and the pay potential is also high. Bonuses are dependent on how well your team operates and are based on a percentage of your base salary.

Plenty of extra time off was provided during COVID-19 - about 10 days of complementary Pandemic Leave, no questions asked. For tech enthusiasts, plenty of optional outside work presentations are available for more tech knowledge sharing, but most definitely optional.

VMware places a big importance on being a force for good. Since I joined, they had two key initiatives, achieving 100% Carbon Neutrality and utilising 100% renewable energy for our operations. These two initiatives were respectively achieved 2 and 1 years ahead of schedule.
